来年のWMアップデートの話

いくつかの海外サイトで話題があがっていましたが、Mobius 2007のセッション中、Microsoftから、来年のWMアップデートに関するデモがあったとか。

Just hot out of one of the Mobius 2007 sessions: Microsoft has shown us an update for the current Windows Mobile 6 software platform.

We saw a demo of an early version, running on current hardware, planned for release to manufacturers by Q1 2008.

There were a couple of rumors floating around about an upcoming Windows Mobile version which follows current Windows Mobile 6 and during today's Mobius conference, Microsoft gave us a sneak peak of it. While it was shown in its full flavor (as available today, I'm sure we will see some further changes until it becomes available), Microsoft asked not to talk about details or features yet. What I'm allowed to say anyway is, that the next Windows Mobile version is an update rather than an upgrade. So don't expect anything groundbreaking new but useful enhancements and changes.

I'm here at Mobius, and we've just had a demo of the next Windows Mobile release (an update, not an upgrade), which is due to hit in Q1 2008. The release isn't the rumoured 'Windows Mobile 7 aka Photon', but it does contain some very cool stuff that everyone (be you a Standard or a Pro user) is gonna love.

Mobiholicsには、次期WindowsMobileリリース(アップグレードではなくアップデート)のデモがあった、とか書かれていますけれど、何やら曖昧＆ぼやかしたような話しか出せないんでしょうね。
Photonの話ではないでしょうから、以前少し話題になっていた、WM6.1のデモがあったということなんでしょうか。

と巡回していたら、id:kzouさんも参加されていたようで(流石です)、この件について触れられていました。

実は、MS主催のMobiusをいう世界のWM情報サイトなどのオーナーなどが20名ほど参加するイベントに新メンバーとして招待されたのでAmsterdamまで来ています(^^ゞ
書けないことが多いですが、いろいろな最新デバイスを見せてもらったり、セッションの内容も濃いっす。

その頃にまた、新しいデバイスが出るといいですね〜。OSアップデータが出ると、ユーザーとしては嬉しいところだとは思いますけれど・・・シャープさん・・
